Dr. Verónica Jimeno Franco
Ophthalmologist specializing in outpatient procedures that transform quality of life: laser surgery and cutting-edge technology with personalized care.
Many of my patients arrive with stories similar to yours
That fleshy growth on the white of your eye, a hard bump on your eyelid that's been there for months, that redness that's become part of your daily life.
Computer text isn't as clear anymore, street signs are harder to read, you need more light to review documents, and you keep holding your phone farther away. Maybe you've gotten used to squinting, but you still feel like you "don't see like before."
The questions start: "Is it something serious?", "Why do I see halos around lights at night?", "Why do my eyes feel dry and tired every day?". Maybe you've been to several check-ups, had your prescription changed, but the discomfort continues.
With the right diagnosis, many of these issues have clear and quick solutions. From same-day outpatient surgeries—like removing the growth, the eyelid bump, or the cataract—to laser treatments to ditch your glasses.
The journey isn't just about "having surgery," it's about feeling supported every step of the way.
Every treatment is designed to bring clarity back to your life, with the best technology and a personal touch.
We identify what's causing your daily discomfort and provide the right treatment: a plan made for you.
It could be an infection or allergy. The important thing is to identify it for the right treatment.
Glaucoma doesn't warn you: by the time you notice vision loss, it's already gone forever. I closely monitor your eye pressure to act in time.
It could be a problem with the macula, the part of the eye that allows you to read and recognize faces.
Strabismus isn't just cosmetic: it can cause double vision and affect your safety. Early diagnosis and treatment in children prevents lazy eye.
These conditions can damage your retina without you noticing. I perform periodic exams to detect changes early.
I use a technique where I take a small piece of tissue from your own eye to cover where
the growth was. It heals better and greatly reduces the risk of recurrence.
If it came back after a previous surgery, there is still a solution using
amniotic membrane.
If you've had a bump on your eyelid for weeks that isn't improving, it most likely needs surgery. It's quick, safe, and you go home the same day.
If you feel like you're seeing through a foggy window, it's probably a cataract. I remove that "cloudy lens" and put in a new one. You leave the same day seeing better.
There are special lenses that not only remove the cataract but also correct myopia, astigmatism, or the need for reading glasses. We choose the best option together.
Sometimes the capsule where the lens sits becomes cloudy. It's easily fixed with laser in 5 minutes, no surgery, no pain. You leave seeing clearly again.
I carefully remove it, send it for analysis, and reconstruct the area to look as natural as possible. Your health and appearance matter.
With laser surgery I correct myopia, astigmatism, and hyperopia. It takes about 15 minutes for both eyes and you go home the same day.
That's called presbyopia and it happens to everyone after 40. There are laser or special lens options so you can read without glasses.
If you have glaucoma or high eye pressure, there's a gentle laser treatment that helps fluid drain better.

Every patient has a unique story. My job is to help you see the next chapter clearly.
I trained at Javeriana University and specialized at Hospital San José, but what has really taught me is over 10 years caring for patients, listening to their fears and celebrating with them when they see well again.

Real stories from my patients.
After 20 years wearing glasses, Dr. Verónica performed laser surgery on me. The next day I woke up and could see the clock without searching for my glasses on the nightstand. I still get emotional when I tell the story.
I had that growth for years and was embarrassed for people to see my eye. The doctor calmly explained everything, operated on me, and within two weeks you couldn't even notice it. I wish I had done it sooner.
My mom had a cataract and was afraid of surgery. Dr. Verónica sat with her, explained step by step, and reassured her. Today my mom sees colors "like when she was young," she says.
I had a bump on my eyelid for months that wouldn't go away with anything. The doctor drained it in 15 minutes and that same day I could open my eye properly. Super professional and very kind.
I was diagnosed with glaucoma and was very scared. Dr. Verónica explained that with monitoring it can be managed well. I've been in follow-up for two years and my vision is stable.
I work all day on the computer and my eyes were always dry and red. The doctor found what was causing it and gave me a treatment that really worked. I no longer end the day with burning eyes.
